The hours are 7:30 to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday morning 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. The hours on Saturday only apply from the first Saturday of April through the last Saturday of October. All incoming loads of garbage Monday through Friday must be across the scale by 3:30 p.m. All incoming loads of garbage on Saturday must be across the scale by 10:30 a.m.
Effective July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2019, the cost of disposal for garbage is $45 per ton, minimum charge $9.00.
The charge for trees, brush and bushes is $45 per ton with a $3.00 minimum charge.
Grass and leaves can be taken to the compost pile free of charge. All bags must be emptied and taken home for disposal.
The Commission has had a covered load policy since July 2004. All loads coming to the landfill must be completely covered or strapped down with the end gate in the upright position. The policy includes trees. This is to prevent materials from blowing out or falling out of the vehicle or trailer. The fee starting on May 1, 2017 will be as follows:
Any individual with the load not covered or strapped down will be charged an additional $25 fee along with the landfill charge.
Any commercial customer with the load not covered or strapped down will be charged an additional $100 fee along with the landfill charge. [View Press Release]
TV’s and monitors can be recycled at the recycling center for $10 regardless of size. The hard drive, key board, and the mouse are free.

Look at the label on the can to see if it is latex or oil based paint. Latex paint is soap and water cleanup.
You can dispose of latex paint by mixing it with kitty litter or oil dry. Once the paint is dry, take the lid off and throw it in with your garbage.
If it is oil based paint, bring it to the recycling center where it will be treated as a hazardous waste at no charge from households.
The recycling trailers are located north of Town and Country on Highway 71 North on the west side of the road.
