What are the hours for the landfill and the recycling center?
The hours are 7:30 to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday morning 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. The hours on Saturday only apply from the first Saturday of April through the last Saturday of October.
How much does it cost to dump garbage?
The cost to dump garbage at the landfill is $37 per ton with a minimum charge of $6. Effective July 1, 2009, the cost will be $40 per ton with a minimum charge of $8..
Grass and leaves can be taken to the compost pile free of charge. All bags must be emptied and taken home for disposal.
Is there a charge for brush and sticks?
The charge for brush and sticks is $25 per ton with a $2.00 minimum charge.
Do incoming loads have to be tarped or covered?
All loads of garbage or brush, whether bagged or loose, must be completely covered and the tarp must be tied down. All end gates must be in the upright position. Exceptions to the policy include appliances, tires, and grass and leaves, which are not mixed with garbage.
How do I properly dispose of TV’s and computer monitors?
By law, TV’s and computer monitors from businesses can not be put in the landfill. TV’s and monitors can be brought to the office at the recycling center and recycled for $.35 per pound based on the weight of the TV or monitor. The hard drive, key board, and the mouse are free.
Residents can choose to recycle their monitors and TVs at the same cost or can landfill them.

What do I do with paint?
Look at the label on the can to see if it is latex or oil based paint. Latex paint is soap and water cleanup.
You can dispose of latex paint by mixing it with kitty litter or oil dry. Once the paint is dry, take the lid off and throw it in with your garbage.
If it is oil based paint, bring it to the recycling center where is will be treated as a hazardous waste at no charge from households.
Where are the trailers for recycling that were located at the Walmart parking lot in Carroll?
The trailers have been moved to the parking lot at the Super Walmart store.
