Garbage (Solid Waste)

Residents and Commercial Businesses can haul garbage to the landfill. All incoming customers are required to weigh on the scale located at the recycling center. After the load is weighed, customers proceed to the landfill to unload the garbage. After the load is unloaded, customers go back and weigh empty at the recycling center. Effective April 1, 2020, the cost of disposal for garbage is $45 per ton, minimum charge $10.00.

Covered Load Policy

The Commission has had a covered load policy since July 2004. All loads coming to the landfill must be completely covered or strapped down with the end gate in the upright position. The policy includes trees. This is to prevent materials from blowing out or falling out of the vehicle or trailer. The fee effective on May 1, 2017 will be as follows:

  • Any individual with the load not covered or strapped down will be charged an additional $25 fee along with the landfill charge.
  • Any commercial customer with the load not covered or strapped down will be charged an additional $100 fee along with the landfill charge. [View Press Release]
